Free Layout Configurator
An extension of the Layout Generator: place key modules anywhere inside
the plate boundary — free position, free rotation, free count. Framework
mode: exports the keyboard shell (mounting plate) only.

How to Use
1. Set the canvas size and assembly tolerance.
2. Enter placement mode, then click to add modules. You can also use a small + for a matrix-aligned position.
3. Drag a module or select it to edit its X, Y and angle values.
4. Fix any red modules, render the preview, then download the STL print set. Each placed module adds one key module and one PCB fixer to the print set.

Canvas Size
The plate outline follows the matrix sizing rules for now — the sliders
set the equivalent rows × cols footprint. The dashed matrix is a size
reference only; modules are not snapped to it.

Module
Use “Enter placement mode” under the board to place modules (a ghost
follows the cursor), or click the + mark to add a matrix-aligned module.
Drag to move; select a module to edit position, rotation and label.

Assembly Tolerance
Global fit clearance between key modules and the shell holes.
Module size itself stays fixed — only the clearance changes.
